‘Vallenato’ originated in Colombia and is a vigorous tree with an upright canopy (Knight et al., 2009). The fruit is monoembryonic, the peel is bright yellow with a crimson blush, 195-340 g . The pulp has moderate fiber, is pale yellow, with a pleasant strong aroma and mild, sweet flavor of good to excellent quality. ‘Vallenato’ is an early midseason season cultivar.
