‘Mallika’ originated in India and is a low to moderately vigorous tree (Campbell, 1992; Campbell, 2004; Knight et al., 2009). The fruit is monoembryonic, the peel is bright yellow with no blush and numerous small, light-yellow dots, 280-450 g . The pulp has little fiber, is deep yellow to orange, strongly aromatic with a rich sweet flavor of excellent quality. ‘Mallika’ is a midseason cultivar that should be picked two to three weeks prior to ripening on the tree and held at room temperature to ripen.
